Jonathan Empson was part of the first group of students to complete the new AFTRS Graduate Diploma of Screenwriting in 2009. During the course, Jonathan completed the first draft of his rom-com feature Honesty Ltd and the first episode of a ten-part drama series, Chrome, which has been optioned by Beyond International. Jonathan's work led his to winning the 2009 FOXTEL Scholarship for Exceptional Talent. Sicne then he has developed further TV series and film projects, most notably the dark comic thriller Get Out of Here, which has been optioned by Emeral Productions. Jonathan also writes children's books, having worked on the Top Gear Best Bits series for Penguin (UK) in 2008/2009, and currently writes humour features and reviews for various magazines such as Reader's Digest Australia, HealthSmart and Australian Traveller. Jonathan specialises in comedy-drama, but also works in thriller and science fiction genres.
